For over 100 years, The Blake School has served students throughout the Twin Cities metropolitan area, preparing them to become lifelong learners and make lasting contributions to the world. Blake’s goal for the new Early Learning Center was to create a state-of-the-art teaching and learning facility that fosters a sense of welcome, wonder, and joy for its students in an inclusive and welcoming environment.
Previously, the school had three campuses serving pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. HGA’s design unified Blake’s two Lower School locations, creating a cohesive learning experience. The updated campus features a new Early Learning Center (ELC) for pre-K through first-grade students and a reimagined Upper Elementary space (within the current Lower School building) for students in grades two through five.
The ELC serves 165 learners, offering a child-centered experience in a sustainably designed facility. The design embraces Blake’s Reggio-inspired early childhood program, fostering connections to the world and environment, encouraging investigation and inquiry, and recognizing children as creative, intelligent, and capable.
