Black wires
An interior design project made for an Internet ticket company. In order to lower the cost and maximize the “internet” concept, black wires were hanging down from the ceiling. To emphasize the black wires, the rest of the room chose to be the plain white background. The total design is very simple yet straight forward delivered the company’s message.
1. A Youth culture company rented a 150 square meters space within a office building, which use to be an accounting firm.
2. As most of the staff uses laptop, the client wish to offer them a free work platform for each of them, staffs’ working space are not permanent, they can switch seats from time to time.
3. At the same time, considering their job nature demand, they wish to set up a high speed internet working environment.
4. They wish make the most of their low construction budget, yet minimize the construction period.
5. Therefore, we decided to keep their existing decor as much as possible, but to unify everything to one single background.
6. We realized the existing floor is still usable, to shorten the construction period and to minimize the budget also to keep the existing floor, we’ve decided to create a ‘floating’ wire system. Wires includes: lighting, socket, internet, utilize the flexibility of the metal conduit hang down to each of the working platform. So that each of the staff can easily choose the place they’d like to stay then plug into the system. We named the whole system as ‘Black Wires’.
7. We offered a storage cabinet for each of the staff, so that they can put in their unneeded stuff to keep their desk clean.
8. To ensure the indoor light, steel and polycarbonate plates structured bookshelfs were used as a divider.
9. For convenient installation and assembling, all tables and bar counter were made of steel with metal paint coated surface.
