The objective to this aggressive renovation/addition was to create a modern adaptation while retaining the iconic gable forms of the existing traditional, lodge-style house. The floor plan was pushed and pulled to create a sense of compression and release as you move through the spaces. The celebration of the gable ends are in-filled completely with glass allowing natural light and surroundings to permeate inside. The interiors complement the restraint and texture of the exterior materials and form. A mix of modern Italian furniture and fixtures are underscored by hand-made artisan furniture and natural materials.
