Biometrics House, the new headquarters of Innovatrics, is based on a direct interpretation of the company’s identity – biometrics. The fundamental generating principle is the metaphor of the dactyloscopic lines of a fingerprint, which are reflected in both the floor plan and the spatial organization of the building, while also creating its subtle and natural pattern. The organically shaped U-shaped plan forms a compact campus organized around a central atrium, with the individual wings drawing closer together and opening up similarly to the layered structure of a fingerprint.
A key element of the concept is the central atrium as the communicational and social core of the building. This space ensures not only clear orientation within the layout, but also visual connectivity between all floors and supports informal interactions. A large-scale skylight brings daylight deep into the plan, eliminating the traditional hierarchy between perimeter and interior spaces and creating a high-quality working environment.
The architecture is conceived as a synthesis of technological precision and human scale. The organic formal language softens the technical character of the building and creates a naturally expressive structure that communicates both with its users and the broader urban context. At the same time, the concept extends beyond the framework of an office building – the project is understood as an open campus, a platform for collaboration, innovation, and interaction with the professional community.
The completed building represents an administrative and research center with one underground and four above-ground floors, designed for more than 400 users. The U-shaped floor plan naturally forms the inner atrium space and creates a compact spatial arrangement, while the building’s lines appear fluid and organic. The layout is organized around this central space, from which workspaces, circulation areas, and relaxation zones are accessible.
The facade develops the core biometric concept through a subtle rhythm of vertical elements and curved lines. The combination of glazed surfaces and metal frames expresses technological precision, while soft shading and the curvature of the volumes ensure visual friendliness and a human scale. The building is designed with a strong emphasis on workplace flexibility — from open-plan offices and team rooms to collaborative and community spaces, including terraces and multifunctional zones. The atrium, as the social heart of the building, supports a corporate culture based on openness and interaction.
The technological standard of the building reflects the innovative character of the investor. The design incorporates intelligent building management systems, biometric access technologies, and advanced energy concepts such as concrete core activation, geothermal boreholes with heat pumps, and smart shading integrated directly into the glazing system — implemented here for the first time in Slovakia. The building also utilizes harvested rainwater for irrigation and toilet flushing. These features ensure a high level of user comfort while simultaneously minimizing the building’s environmental footprint.
The project represents a synthesis of architecture and technology, where form, function, and identity create a coherent and legible whole — a contemporary workspace transformed into an innovative and city-forming environment. The overall design approach clearly distinguishes the project from a conventional developer-driven scheme focused on maximizing the site’s buildable capacity. Instead, a significant portion of the plot is intentionally preserved as a semi-public park, enhancing the quality of the environment, supporting the public character of the area, and providing added value to the wider surroundings.
