THE BIOAPPART®THE FIRST ECOLOGICAL APPARTMENT FOR RENT IN PARIS WITH HEALTHY MATERIALS

The challenge was to create a kitchen, a living-room, a
bedroom and a bathroom, which means a 3 rooms flat on a
surface area of 18m2.

Principle: This Bioappart is
the prototype for a series of small apartments which are intended for rental. It’s the
very first one of this kind : 100% ecological and very designful
with its integrated furniture. It respects health and
environment. The objective was to create a space which meets ingenuity
and comfort.
Descriptive: A strategy was
based upon a minimalist design, using modular fittings and furnishings. The sofa
becomes a bed hidden under the the attic, the sides of the sofa open
up into armchairs, and the table folds into the wall at the
end of the meal. All the materials, the systems for electricity
and pipework are eco-friendly. Then, cabling is “shielded” for the
elimination of magnetic fields, lights and taps are energy saving.
The attic is insulated with hemp, the remaining walls and the
ceiling are painted with emission-free bio-friendly paint. All the
furniture is of solid timber construction, with birchwood
veneers. The bathroom and kitchen are finished in cement stucco,
based on the Moroccan “tadelakt” technique, in order to provide a surface finish which is waterproof. The little most
of the Bioappart: a «living» wall with a clay finish that
absorbs or releases humidity according to the hygrometry of the
room, it can also diffuse essential oils.
