LOF Arkitekter has been selected as the winner of the parallel assignment for the development of the shuttle station site in Sogndal, known as the Billagstomti. The client for this project is Einarsen Eigedom and Clemens Eiendom AS.
Sogndal, a rapidly growing town nestled in the picturesque Sogne Fjord, is renowned for its stunning natural scenery. A popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts and skiers, Sogndal offers excellent skiing opportunities, particularly for advanced backcountry skiing due to its high-quality snow. The Sognefjord region's "sea to summit" experience, where you can easily access both coastal and mountain landscapes, adds to its appeal.
The project entails creating a new urban quarter featuring a modern, contextually appropriate bus terminal at ground level, pedestrian-friendly pathways for schoolchildren, and a versatile new building that will enhance the city center's density and quality. The new development will revitalize Gravensteinsgata with active street-level facades. The quarter will offer numerous attractive apartments with ample sunlight and desirable views. Public spaces within the development will be green and inviting, with plenty of opportunities for social interaction both indoors and outdoors.
The jury consisted of Frode Einarsen, Sofia Bjørck, Magnus Indrebø, Lars Ivar Welle-Nilsen, and jury leader Sissel T. Engblom.
