This house was a split level "Habitat" project house from the early 1970's, situated on the plateau of Bilgola with view North and East to the ocean. The clients required more bedrooms and an improved connection between the house and the garden. Existing bathrooms and kitchen were renovated and large timber sliding doors and timber decks were added to the Kitchen and Living Room to open the house up to the front and rear. A new floor was added consisting of two bedrooms and a bathroom, plus above that a roof terrace in the new roof space achieving magnificent views East over Bilgola Beach. The client was keen to maintain the 1970's design features of the original house – these details were incorporated into the renovations and new work to the house.
Purpose designed fittings and joinery were added to fulfil the client's requirements – a handmade copper outdoor shower to the rear deck, a sliding mirror above the fireplace to hide the television when not in use, roll-away island bench in the Kitchen, banquette seating to the Dining Room.
