Maintaining the character and scale in this active downtown neighborhood (across from our office) was an important design criterion for this proposal. It contains four floors of lofts styled office space with retail and parking on the first floor. the upper three floors are set back from the street line to maintain the relationship with the lower roof lines of adjacent buildings. A "vest-pocket" space will allow for outdoor dining and the terra cotta facing on the lower floors is sympathetic to the existing brick buildings on either side of the site. The introduction of a window design to reflect natural light deep into the office spaces, as well as a vegetated roof garden, are two sustainable design features we have proposed for this building.
