The renovation involved an earth block in the residential area of Castello adjacent to the Venice Biennale Gardens. The property, which had been in a state of neglect for a long time, highlighted many traces of the Venetian construction tradition and the redevelopment was carried out while maintaining and emphasizing these peculiarities.
The building consists of an entrance on the ground floor, a long staircase that leads directly to the second floor where there is a living room with kitchenette, a bathroom and a bedroom. A second staircase leads to the third floor from where you access the newly built roof terrace. Just to enhance the pre-existences, the staircase from the ground floor has been kept in exposed wood full of vibrant and suggestive textures. On the second floor the two lateral retaining walls in exposed brick have been treated with the lime scaling method to highlight the texture. An oak paneling enhances the service cell, the central core of the top. Going up to the third floor you reach a room with bespoke oak furnishings, also useful for accessing the roof terrace above the roof.
