The Península Arquitetura office was responsible for the revitalization project of a pre-existing village house, located in the Perdizes neighborhood of São Paulo. The clients, a couple of grandparents, expressed their desire to preserve the original characteristics of the residence, directing the team to develop a careful and respectful intervention.
The main objective was to maintain the characteristic elements of the house, such as wooden floors, window frames, window grilles, and roof, while harmoniously integrating new elements. At the back of the property, an annex was transformed into a leisure area, laundry room, and office, following the same strategies applied to the main house.
Spatial adjustments were made internally to optimize daily usability, with specific structural reinforcements highlighted in the same color as the window frames and metalwork. The electrical and hydraulic installations were modernized, the roof tiles were replaced while maintaining their original design, and permeable areas were created for rainwater drainage.
Zenithal lighting was introduced in the staircase, the existing pink marble floor was preserved, and the color white was chosen as a base to highlight the colored elements. Metal elements in the new doors and windows contrast with the wooden ones, while the light granilite floor establishes a dialogue with the wooden parquet in the living room.
The stone baseboard in the external area was maintained, highlighting the contrast between the old and the new. Península Arquitetura was responsible for the integral management of the construction work, ensuring quality control, compliance with the schedule, and cost optimization.
The final result is a residence that preserves its original essence, incorporating contemporary elements harmoniously. A home that values its history, adapting to the needs of its residents and providing comfort, functionality, and well-being.
