International architectural competition for the design of the Beton Hala Waterfront Center in Belgrade. This design aspires to form riverbank as independent, self sufficient, self aware node of city's matrix, like the hill behind it is with Kalemegdan foretress and its park and promenades.River indentation inside the city and extraction of new activities towards river, activates it as a new function itself, thus making it an equally valuable natural element as Kalemegdan fortress. Therefore this concept carries out Beton Hala as, at the same time, access and exit point of the city.Opened to a river and rising from it, building's shape emphasizes linear flows and is created out of them. Tensioned arc is active connection towards Kalemegdan slope, uniting two spatial elements of the city skyline. The design encircles existing structure of Beton Hala and raises it above the narrow riverfront, creating a new logical connection between past and the future.
