The Beton Hala Waterfront Center assimilates the repetitive vertical
rhythm of an existing 300-meter long industrial storage building and
integrates it not just programmatically but intends to integrate old and
new formally.
The intervention consists of a sequence of several floating
cantilevered boxes, detached from the rooftop of the existing building.
Public plazas are established in between the boxes, which offer
different outdoor activities depending on their size and location. The
public plazas complement the city’s need for public spaces where river
and water related festivals and events of all sort would take place.
