Spittelmarkt is a historic area in the Berlin district of Mitte, located in the eastern part of the Leipziger Straße, on the west bank of the Spree canal.
To return to give importance to the area, the project's main objective is the construction of a mixed-use building containing commercial space activities, cafes, restaurants, offices and private homes, as well as the redesign and redevelopment of the historic square to triangular, of course, always respecting the rules and customs building and planning regulations the city of Berlin.
The project area, which is described by the intersection of the important road axis of the Leipziger Straße with the channel of the river Spree and the urban front of Wallstraße provides a space trapezoidal bordering the quay of the river, for the construction of the new building and the remaining triangular, more central than the first, devoted to the implementation of the new square.
On the basis of these considerations, the idea of a project that aims to better integrate into the urban context, observing and communicating with the existing, being at the same time an expression of contemporary architecture, but rational, clean and basic, simple shapes and geometric, without ornaments and with respect for the rhythmic proportions of the facade.
