With strong ties to the neighborhood the owner purchased a small corner 10,366 s.f. lot. with no sewer available on site. The program required a large family multi-generational home that would be a gath-ering place for many community events while at the same time providing privacy for the owners. The design reorients the house along the east-west axis to address the more private street, increase natural light and ventilation and create a front yard and that doubles as a filtration trench for the septic sys-tem. The new 2 story 5,580 s.f. residence is distinctive in the organization of it’s form. The plan follows a radial organization with a rotunda at the core of the house serving as both a way changing place and a private inner sanctum.
