“Bench 1000cm” is the new project that has been created by "ModelArt
Studio" from Serbia in
collaboration with Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad and the Municipality
of Dimitrovgrad. The project was created as a part of research of the influence of architectural
installations such as microurban intervention in public space and its revival
through the creation of benchmark pointas places of socialization. It is an experimental spatial
installations / street furniture, primarily intended for open public spaces as
a utilitarian object, but also it is specific spatial seal that visually
dominates the area and makes specail atmopshere for socializing.
The form object is achieved by parametric computer modeling, and then
translated into physical form. The structure was made of wooden slats,
with alternating toggled full and empty places whitch was combined with
internal lighting, that gives an interesting light effects. The structure
is 10m long, but it gives possibility of reducing or extension depends of place
where it stands.
The author team is Dejan Mitov, Jelena Čobanović, Krsto Radovanović and Maja Nogavica gathered
together in the studio Modelart . The Group is engaged in the design and
manufacture of utility installations, participation in competitions,
exhibitions and professional workshops, development of physical models and the
