The Benaki Hall was initially built in 1927 and was completed in November 1928, without its West wing, which was built several years later (1948-1952). In 2004, it was decided to refurbish the building and the project began in November 2008 and was completed in stages by early May 2010.
The refurbishment work covered a broad range of upgrades; the building’s structural integrity, improvements of all facilities and services to support its current usage.
The works involved the entire building (a total area of 11,992m2). All the construction works were executed out without any interruptions or impact on the school’s educational programme.
The entire refurbishment and upgrade of the Benaki Hall was carried out with the utmost respect to its traditional and unique internal and external architectural characteristics.
