Set at the top of a sloping tree-filled landscape with a pond further down, the house takes advantage of the buildable area while both protecting inhabitants from west wind or neighbors’ glances and providing a lovely wide view over the surroundings. In this way, the “L” shape building, with terrace between wings, look onto the bond. By means of its flat roofs, following pretty much the declivity of the ground, the house is definitely well integrated in its environment. In the same way, the materials reflect the natural beauty of the “wood” beneath, and reinforce the idea of an “habited nature”. Actually, timber is the main structural material used to build this house and forms its cladding. As an echo, a raw concrete wall makes the link between mineral and vegetable, such a transition between public space and the nearby park.
