Belle Amie is a gastronomic destination which combines the beauty of a local coffee shop and the taste of homemade cooking in one of the most historic neoclassic buildings of Piraeus.
The main aim was to respect the history of the building. The decoration on the inside is in harmony with the imposing power of the building, leaving it with the delicate architectonic elements that dominate, creating an atmosphere of a chic local coffee shop.
Focusing on the enhancement of the neoclassic local mansion, plaster boards were removed along with wood structures and ceramic floor tiles, like cotto that were usually found in staircases.
Wooden attics were removed from the shop while metal structures that trapped the staircase, were demolished in an effort to uncover it.
In the Construction a lot of antique furniture were being used such as original Thonet chairs parts of a wooden bar founded in Belgium and metal structures founded in Paris from an old traditionary bakery shop.
