Designed by the world-renowned architect Eero Saarinen, this 2 million square foot site has undergone a transformation into a mixed-use town center in Holmdel, New Jersey. The historic facility, originally opened in 1962, is the former site of the Bell Laboratories and is currently owned by Somerset Development. The building has been restored to its original glory through exploring the property’s maximum potential to create a vibrant, urban experience within a rural setting.
The massive, six-story, mirrored-glass structure features a public “promenade” created by restoring the building’s existing atrium. The pedestrian friendly development houses a mix of businesses including retail, dining, healthcare and wellness, conference center and educational facilities. The site’s surrounding 470 acres of land allows for residential and open space uses.
