The only coral island in Taiwan. A small island transformed from a fishing port to sightseeing. Possess rich marine ecology, intertidal zone, there are thousands of turtles around this island. The island that values environmental protection. We decided to adopt a construction method with minimal damage to the land – by shipping containers.
The project used ten 20ft containers, there are seven rooms, eight bathrooms, a lounge room, a storeroom,
a laundry room, a reception and a open kitchen. A base on the seafront.

The client is a fashion designer with a unique taste and persistence. Returning from the city to her hometown to take care fo her parents. Use the land left by ancestor, create a homestay operation. Start a life and career after retirement.

The most interesting thing is, the architect provided a total of four versions of the design drawings, the final version is decided by the highest local deity Bodhisattva. In local residents cannot decide on all matters, let Bodhisattva decide. So to some extent, this was designed by the deity Bodhisattva.

Liuqiu island now has more than 500,000 tourists every year, Tourists go to the island to engage in diving, snorkeling, and ecological tourism. There are less than 15,000 residents on the island, the island only 6.8 square kilometers, Hope that travelers who have the opportunity to visit this small island can take environmental protection together.
