A gut renovation of the original townhouse with a focus on finding a sense of scale and proportion to the home. At the front facade, elements of the architectural style of the home were retained and period details revitalized.
Designed for an art professor, a sound designer and their young child, the project is a blend of traditional details and modern finishes reflecting the family's cultural roots and sensibilities.
The open layout was key to creating a casual, inviting atmosphere and responds to the family's desire to be brought closer together in their day to day life. Larger windows at the rear facade and new skylights were added to bring in natural light and give a bright and open feel. Thoughtful space planning allows for the incorporation of functional storage to help simplify daily life.
