the principal architect for the 80,000 square foot BCTA Expressway Travel
Center and Maintenance Facility.
Beaver County Transit Authority, also known as BCTA Fast.Forward., is a progressive
transit agency operating both a fixed route and paratransit fleet. The
mixed-use design is comprised of a transit station and Customer Information Center
equipped with state-of-the-art trip planning and automatic vehicle location systems,
retail facilities, operations offices, vehicle storage and maintenance
facilities for the entire Fast.Forward. fleet, diesel fueling tank farm, bus
wash, employee parking and a 250 car Park & Ride lot. The building aesthetic suggesting
"motion," is customer oriented, and improves the public presence of
the selected site. Specialty consultants include: fueling station design,
civil, and traffic engineering by Frederic R. Harris (DMJM Harris), structural
and MEP engineering by Kaiser Engineers (Earth Tech and Hatch Mott MacDonald),
geotechnical engineering by GeoMechanics, surveying by Monaloh Basin Engineers,
landscape design by Klavon Design Associates, and signage and graphics by Peter
Muller-Munk.
