The project is a single detached house for a young couple and their newborn child in Toronto's trendy Beach neighbourhood. Rad Design Inc was engaged to redesign and put some finishing touches on their home before their baby’s arrival. The child’s room eventually became part of the scope of design. Furniture, lighting, artwork and accessories were added in various area of the house to create a cohesive whole for the house’s unique architecture. Rad Design Inc also custom designed some of the furniture pieces including those of the master bedroom. This bedroom has a dream-like quality reminiscent of boutique hotels. A great room to relax, escape and recharge. Each room has its own unique colour palette with splashes of bright colours to liven-up the bright, sunlit rooms. The nursery combines a bright atmosphere with clean, white furniture and lavender walls that work harmoniously with the large teal rug that takes up the whole room. Traditional “boy/girl” colours were replaced with more neutral/contemporary colour choices that provide a design that will last as the child grows. The office/library received new large, comfortable chairs in bright purple and a new art wall, displays samples of the client’s photography work. A textured rug adds some dimension to the space. On the main floor, new colours, furniture, lighting and combination of textures ties the design together with some of the client’s existing pieces.
