Refurbihsing the offices of the lawyer firm BCF implies a project spanned over several separate floors: one of the great challenges was to conceive a space that highlights the company’s values while reusing as many original elements as possible. Such a challenge finds echo in the library enclosed between glass walls, in which all the books and protocol codes of the firm were displayed as works of art. As well as creating a gentle balance between new working approaches and the traditions of the field, this architectural gesture was the first step towards the dambulatory corridor where the art collection of the firm is siplayed. Furthermore, the special relation the company has with its customers implied that the spaces had to provide immediate confidence, create a sense of cocoon as well as to breathe professionalism. Located in a large tower downtown Montreal, our great gesture consisted in framing beautiful views on the urban landscape, while respecting the standards of privacy related to this business field.
