Terraces that host prefabricated houses from the 1980 earthquake that are currently being demolished characterize the intervention area, on the edge of town. The area falls within the applicable Municipal Urban Plan in the homogeneous C2 zone. This allows the construction of public facilities, underground network projects and the upgrade of roads and public spaces intended for plazas equipped with green spaces for sports and leisure. The competition sponsored by BCC for the construction of the BCC headquarters becomes an important opportunity for environmental and urban restoration of Raie and of the local area in general. In addition to the new building, it provides a park with lots of greenery.
Already in other Italian places BCC has operated with similar interventions that actively contribute to the socio-economic development of the national territory. In order to meet the Bidding Authority's requirements listed in the Preliminary Project Document and in the announcement, an inspection and climate analysis of the area is found to be helpful.
The intent of the proposed project is to build the first building complex/park that is Leed Italia certified in Southern Italy, by fully responding to sustainability, efficiency and indoor quality demands. The aforementioned has produced a design concept that represents architecture of relationships (dynamic relational spaces).
Architecture of relationships means you need to organically design the spatial and physical links between the ground and the building, the interior and exterior spaces, also public and private uses, including what is open and covered, between nature and artifice, and to make these links the primary meaning of the project.
The architectural structure is a geographical, topographical project, that directly communicates with the orographic and hydrographic characteristics of the site. It is an interstitial project of mediation and the link between different morphological contexts (territorial and urban). Itt is a project about the relationship between layers imposed on the ground level, able to establish strong relationships in the vertical section with layers and sub-layers of the soil. The proposed architecture is based on the creation of spaces in the perception of a complex and refined use of materials and an equally complex use of light and textures to achieve a sense of multiple perceptions (multisensory). The conceptual logic that drives the project is linked to the perception of the final architectural synthesis, where space, light, color, geometry, detail and materials become synergistic and defining elements. The change in the arrangement of surfaces that define the space is a result of the change of the observer's position (the parallax). It is transformed when the axes of movement leave the horizontal dimension. Spatial definition is organized by the angles of perception. The vertical elements in the facade and the projections of the body parts of the building are the key to new spatial perceptions. The experiences in spatial sequence in parallax, with its luminous flux, are realized by crossing the spaces in which motility and the subject-body become the tools to measure the architectural space.
