This is a conceptual project located on a real site, with real clients and professional architects as jurors. The challenge was to overcome the cities overly restrictive ordinances, and still fit all the program requirements onto the site.The program requirements included: 14 lofts, classrooms for community art lessons, an art gallery for local artist, and provisions for the existing art supply store to be housed within the facility.My end goal was to design a building that broke from the traditional designs of the community, in an attempt to emphasize the freedom of artistic expression.
