The project responds to the site's own language, expectant views of the protagonist surroundings suggest a wide aperture, which receives protection by means of exposed eaves, in extension and with texture changes.
La Fortuna experiences an implacable tropical climate resulting from the simplicity of its form, which is resolved in a play of monochromatic volumes under a large shadow.
Master plan is composed of two villas, six units, a multifunctional space, parking, reception and warehouse, all distributed in 3000m2. Strategic planning allows for privacy in each element, continuity in its paths and unity in the design. From landscaping two very important points are solved, the close relationships between the units and the delimitation of space for each element, in addition to natural spatial perception and exuberant colors.
The units are compact, this suggests experiencing them also in height and in this way find other perspectives, the gesture in form is bold by virtue of the place.
The villas are spacious with marked thresholds between inside and outside, which provides a slow and smooth transition with direct connection to the exterior, with the textures complementing this intention.
The multipurpose space is conceived as a two-level platform that allows indoor and outdoor activities, a programmable distribution according to the need.
The complementary elements respond to the concept of the resort, being located in the most functionally suitable spaces so that maintenance activities do not interrupt rest activities.
This lodging project demonstrates that Costa Rican tropical architecture is of high aesthetic value and has its own character that offers countless opportunities.
