"Battersea Power Station is an iconic decommissioned coal-fired power station located on the south bank of the River Thames in London. Development plans for the site include provision for 255 residential units alongside multi-storey offices, leisure facilities and a retail centre, all to be contained within the existing industrial fabric.
Michaelis Boyd are appointed as Residential Interior Architects to design all of the apartments within the power station with Wilkinson Eyre working alongside as the lead architects. Due to the nature of the existing building there are 109 different typologies from studios to large 4 bedroom penthouses nestled between the chimneys to the north and south. We are accustomed to the challenges of reinvigorating existing historical buildings, and are committed to creating an industrial aesthetic with a refined luxury feel worthy of the original architect Sir Giles Gilbert Scott.
The apartments are designed with two concepts in mind: Heritage?33 - a look inspired by the warmth of detail from the first phase of the Power Station and Heritage?47 - inspired by the architectural crispness of the forties and the second phase of the development. Future inhabitants will have the unique experience of being enveloped in a living monument to the past."
