The concept for this competition entry for a mountain hut in the Himalayas has been to use converted shipping containers to form an adaptable prototype than can be adjusted for different locations.
The pre-fabricated nature of construction will allow different units to be fitted out in a controlled environment and lifted ito place with minimal site work within inhospitable environments. This method of construction will also offer quality and cost control along with flexibility for different sites, adaptability and security.
Acting as a beacon in the landscape, the mountain hut will create a focal point within the landscape for occupants and passers-by alike.
