Alexandra Pires Architects redesigned a house in Barroselas, north of Portugal.
The new interior design improves the overall layout of the house, separating the social open plan spaces from the private areas. A rational selection of finishes gives the house a contemporary feel, from the white walls and ceilings to the use of natural woods on doors, cabinets and flooring.
Due to planning constraints, the proposal had to exclude any intervention on the external facade. However, all new areas benefit from natural light assisted by a central glass staircase and floor to ceiling doors.
