Bar Orange is a small bar in Tokyo, accommodating 13-seated guests with optional standing counters. Due to space and budget limitations, the bar can be divided into three main elements – walls, counter and lighting.
Conceptually derived by its name, the materially of the outer shell is hard and consistent, made of 2.3mm thick hot-rolled steel modular panels, which take the function of wall surface, door and partition. The dimensions of the modules were determined by the method of transportation, size of the entrance access and interval of the bar stools. Within this shell, the interior is more fresh and energising – a long tubular light made of polycarbonate is suspended above a Japanese Zelkova wood counter. The lamp, which extends across the counter and into the bathroom, illuminates the entire bar.
