Baohua Dongtai Plaza sits in the heart of the Shanyin Road Preservation Area of Shanghai, CN.
For this design, GreenebrgFarrow was tasked with maximizing the site’s potential while considering the sun’s path and the building impact on the surrounding residential neighborhood. Several studies were completed to balance the maximum-floor-area allowed on site, while other studies focused on the impact that the plaza's shadows would have on surrounding residential buildings. Due to the site restrictions and sun path studies, Baohua Dongtai Plaza took on a very modern aesthetic that will surely become a landmark in the area.
The 11-story building will consist of high-end offices above commercial retail space. The shopping mall at the base attracts visitors into the heart of the project, where an atrium opens up to the terracing office park above. Surrounding the Plaza are low elevation residential buildings that will give prominence to the mixed-use development.
Upon completion of the design, GreenbergFarrow was hired by the Client to design the interior spaces of the offices and shopping mall; the GreenebrgFarrow team is currently developing the interior packages while the building is set to begin construction.
