The intervention of the bathrooms at the M. Doblado Theater comes up from the need to expand this service because the bathrooms lacked from their original image according to the enclosure as well as enough capacity for the conventional services and facilities for the disabled.
Initially the program is solved by seeking an available area in the theater to relocate the men’s area to use all the current area as exclusively for women. Among this area is connected the architectural project will be performed with the projects of engineering in order to accommodate this new area.
The architectural proposal starts from the main hall of the theater where the marble covers the walls of the bathroom making a presence and giving a suggestive guideline that the bathrooms are behind this coating.
In women’s distribution area we seek to solve and give vent to the bathrooms area and cleaning room as well as the vanity area, such as that in front of the access, we place a half-height wall which makes a foyer keeping washrooms in the back part , this way the residual area on the sides will be allocated to the area where women finish washing and then can be installed comfortably in front of a large mirror with a shelf where you can put the finishing touches of beauty without blocking washrooms areas. The result is a free access with constant movement on both sides and an entirely space covered with a white Carrara marble tone in contrast with stainless steel screens and some contrast in black color accessories, which gives a very clean and elegant character.
The men’s area which is smaller in capacity was resolved more functional because of the small space, seeking to satisfy the demand for bathroom furniture and urinals with the washroom area.
