Banc of California Stadium sets a new benchmark for the premium soccer experience through its dynamic and engaging design, giving way to elevated and authentic experiences for fans, guests and players—from game day to special events. This 22,000-seat venue is the first open-air professional stadium to be built in Los Angeles in over 30 years.
The stadium’s contemporary design is open and dynamic, with 190,000 SF of ETFE roofing to reflect heat and curved like angels wings to symbolize the “City of Angels.” Embracing Tinseltown, the stadium was designed cinematically to stage moments for fans to build memories. Framed views of the Downtown LA skyline create a symbolic connection to the city by drawing on the cultural diversity of Los Angeles, while the stadium’s interiors take cues from the gradient of the California sunset and the Art Deco movement.
Los Angeles Football Club placed an emphasis on the game day experience, aiming to capture a more personal relationship between players and fans by creating an intimate European-style character in a state-of-the-art facility. Diverse club offerings are available for every level of fan, embodying the "grit and glamour" of Los Angeles—from supporters to celebrity owners. The project’s design goal was to reflect on the culture of the city while providing a more social and layered fan and visitor experience. The stadium also encompasses 37,000 square feet of new development, including a restaurant, food hall, merchandise store, lounge and bar areas, and a private party terrace—creating social hubs for visitors to celebrate the team.
Banc of California Stadium serves as a cultural anchor along the Figueroa Corridor, promoting economic development and revitalizing the local community. The project has become a catalyst for future improvements to South Los Angeles and Exposition Park as a year-round cultural destination.
