with the balnova bathhouse and health center, a contemporary place for health, movement, and prevention has been realized in bad orb, combining medical functionality with a clear, modern architectural language.
the ground floor accommodates balneology with saline pools as well as physiotherapy. high-quality equipment, including an anti-gravity treadmill, cryotherapy chamber, and isokinetic systems, enables rehabilitation programs up to the level of professional athletes.
the upper floor houses an orthopedic practice and a radiological diagnostic center with mri and ct. all functional areas are accessed via a centrally positioned, generously glazed staircase.
the new building was realized as a reinforced concrete skeleton structure with concrete cores, columns, and walls. the applied metal façade draws formal inspiration from the historic graduation tower of bad orb, reinterpreting its timber framework structure in a contemporary way.
a curtain wall glass façade behind it ensures bright interiors filled with natural daylight.
the interior design concept works with subtle color accents: shades of blue on the upper floor reference water and salt, while green tones on the ground floor are inspired by the adjacent spa and healing forest. this creates a calm atmosphere focused on healing and well-being.
