The design concept for the headquarters of the BalanceBooks publishing company evolved from two main objectives. The first idea was to create a powerful entrance by creating a double height space encased with bookshelves that emphasize the verticality and the size difference, giving a temple like quality. The visitor will enter the world of books.The second idea was the use of yellow super-graphics in the large horizontal glass areas of the office spaces announcing the different departments. The use of vinyl translucent letters in the glass areas give the space color and movement as the sun moves over time.The super-graphics are the immediate relationship to the art of graphic design and typeface which is a large part of the publishing industry.
