Publishing company BALance Books specializes in the publication of “How To” books and magazines. The office occupies the tenth and eleventh floors of the Bayard Building at 65 Bleeker Street. Taking into account the nature in which ‘how to’ books break down complicated processes step by step, the design takes the same approach through an elegant deconstruction of space. The interior walls mimic wood framing while exposed brick, radiators, copper pipes and wood beams enhance the deconstucted feel. The space highlights a large scale draped light fixture as a feature over the double height library; which serves as the hub of this office.
