Renovation and conversion of a listed town hall to a centre for design.
The beautiful, town hall in Bakklandet in Trondheim was given new life with offices and a center for design. In close collaboration with the project owner, users and city heritage offices, the building was renovated to accommodate offices and homes. The unique character of the old "church room" has been preserved and made available to the city. With the help of careful interventions in the facade, the historic architectural language has been safeguarded while giving the building a more extroverted character.
