A QUIRKY & YOUNG cafe on the theme BACKYARD!
It was to explore all those things that are sitting in our backyard for years or days but are hardly being used anymore (or are!)
Thus emerged the kitschy cafe that uses carom boards for tables at times and at times makes table tops out of music cassettes (yes! remember them?)
Old fruit cartons make for COLOURFUL display boxes.
Bottle and container caps form the myriad cash counter facade
Exposed bulbs bunch up to form wall lights and egg whiskers tie up to form ceiling lamps
Car tyres retro fitted with glass form little windows into the kitchen on a white exposed brick wall which punctuates happy yellow plank doors :-)
The entire ceiling is clad in NEWSPAPER- That's right! its simple newspaper pasted all over- isn't that the biggest chunk of our backyard stuff?
Old helmets, irons, typewriters, oars, cycle pump, magazine ads, film roll negatives, all find their place at this cafe creating a heady mix of nostalgia and fun!
