This is a small 50sqm cottage built for a retired couple who spend a large part of the year travelling. The cottage is built in the back garden of their son who lives on acreage near Noosa on the Sunshine Coast. The intent was to have a compact dwelling that the owners could retreat to between travels. The interior though small, has high ceilings with highlight windows to allow winter sun and to vent the building during summer. The idea was to create a grand light-filled space within a small footprint.
