With a footprint of 35’ by 16’, the ground floor emphasizes a smooth transition from bedroom to living room, organized around a central service core.
Aligned with Halifax's Secondary and Backyard Suite Incentive Program, Backhouse encourages additional housing units by providing homeowners up to 50% of eligible project costs, with a forgivable loan capped at $40,000. Backhouse challenges traditional housing models, offering a strong solution adaptable to diverse urban and suburban environments, effectively meeting Halifax's evolving housing needs.
