Baan Nu Noi – La-orutis Demonstration School
Starting from the concept of “Dream high Fly high”, the symbol of birds is used to represent the image of learning that emphasizes the discovery of children’s own potential, development through independent learning, and the promotion of limitless imagination.
The facade is designed to incline upward like a bird soaring into the sky towards freedom. Meanwhile, the building is designed with simple lines and openness, emphasizing the use of natural light and ventilation from outside to inside.
The overall design emphasizes the use of neutral colors, alternating with wood tones to create a warm and friendly atmosphere, contrasted with the brightly colored graphics of the playground in front of the building, which helps stimulate enthusiasm and fun for children and teachers to support various activities.
The interior of the building is kept simple, with earth tones to create a pleasing look. The central court area is designed to be a double-volume space to create an airy feel and create interaction between the first and second floors, with the use of natural light from the skylight into the building. The design gimmick focuses on natural elements, such as graphic patterns and color tones on the floor, designed to resemble the contours of the mountain, with additional of various elements linked to the sky concept, such as the cloud pattern on the glass-protection partition and the bird wing lamps flying in double-volume space.
Each classroom emphasizes a flexible classroom to support a variety of teaching and learning activities, with certain walls built with storage to keep things organized and easy to use. Most of the walls are covered with laminate sheets that can be used to present the children's work, or as an area for teachers to apply for various teaching media.
The bathroom area is designed to connect to each classroom for ease of use, adding a storage space for children's personal belongings to practice basic responsibility. The color scheme is mostly white and light blue, adding a gimmick of bird wing lamps and soap bubble graphics to create a light and comfortable feeling, like floating in the sky.
The rooftop is designed as a semi-indoor exercise area, emphasizing the use of natural light and good ventilation, covered with a roof as an alternative area for outdoor activities when needed to avoid rain or hot sun during the day.
The spacious area is decorated with fun graphic patterns on the floor for a joyful atmosphere.
