B70, originally designed by Skarphéðinn Jóhannsson in 1958, underwent a transformativerenovation in 2024 by Atrium Arkitektar. The interior organization was largely preserved, withsubtle adjustments to better accommodate modern family life. These included opening upthe space between the kitchen and dining room and adding a door from the ground-floorfamily room to the garden. The garden itself was extensively landscaped, featuring the addition of a concrete hot tub andan outdoor shower. During the excavation, the ruins of a small cottage—burned down in the1950s—were uncovered. These historical remnants have been thoughtfully incorporated intothe garden, with a wooden deck now installed within the cottage’s original footprint. All fixtures and fittings throughout the renovation were carefully designed and selected byAtrium Arkitektar.
