The project owner, Built Land Public Company Limited, would like to create two buildings with different programs, namely B Work an office building, and Koo Hotel, while keeping the design of the buildings connected. Therefore, the main issue is that OS has to use the design to achieve its purpose, which is unique but harmonious.
As a result, OS presents the concept of "Embraced by Nature," that "Embrace" refers to love and family engagement that is conveyed to the house or residence, which is the owner's main business, and "Nature" refers to the intention and identity of the owner, who loves nature and cares for the environment.
In architectural design, OS uses the double skin to create continuity and embrace both buildings. Although there are differences in details, the overall exterior of the two buildings appears to be the same. We designed the pattern on the double skin by using the figure and void of looking through the trees to represent the see-through layers of nature, with simplified the details to make it look more modern and minimal. Furthermore, the double skin also helps adjust the perspective of chaos from the outside environment, such as power poles and power lines, to create a more attractive view from both the outside and inside the building.
