BRICKBOX is the workspace of an architecture firm, born from the aspiration to create a balance between a homely atmosphere and a studio-oriented environment. The vision behind its design was to translate the firm's two-decade-long journey and commitment to sustainable design into a tangible form. Every aspect—from site selection and spatial organization to construction materials, methodologies, and artwork—was approached with a soulful intent.
This space is not defined by mere aesthetics, high-end furniture, or technical lighting; rather, it embodies the essence of village life and promotes the philosophy of recycling and upcycling—not just of materials, but of space and context. In a world where appearances often take precedence, BRICKBOX stands apart as a place that resonates on a deeper level—one that can truly be felt only by being present within it.
BRICKBOX is built around the fundamental principle of sustainability, influencing every aspect—from massing and cross-section to material selection and intricate details. Its straightforward plan reflects the firm’s philosophy of harmonizing people, place, context, and culture, while the volumetric composition embodies a thoughtful response to climate.
The journey of conceptualizing BRICKBOX was an immersive process—striving to create informality within formality, a distinct energy amidst the chaos, and, most importantly, a delicate balance between tradition and change. The pursuit of finding potential in the obsolete and beauty in the forgotten inspired a redefinition of aesthetics, shaping the essence of BRICKBOX.
