Situated on a hill overlooking the private beach and Okinawa Sea beyond, the Azure Residence is conceived to function as a seasonal vacation residence for a family that owns an International Hotels and Resorts Company and to be operated as an exclusive residence club rest of the year.
With subtropical climate and sea considered among the world’s most beautiful, the Azure Residences imagined vacation residences that imbue the natural beauty of surrounding sceneries while balancing communal leisure lifestyle in a resort setting with privacy and comfort of home living. The resulting massing strategy devised three distinctive massing blocks, each containing individual private living quarters elevated above a large base that contains shared programs.
The private living quarters’ exterior envelopes are designed to screen the summer sun while framing views of the Sea and the Forest. Two-level base mass is a communal leisure hall with split-level gardens, living, kitchen, dining, bar, indoor pool, fitness, sundeck, and outdoor recreation area.
