The Avaradi House Located in Mahalingpur, Bagalkot, Karnataka. The renovation of the house seeks to preserve its memory by maintaining the original structure of the house. The new architectural and interior extension proposes a better integration of the house's internal environments, restructuring and proposing new structural reinforcements for new openings and also creating new relationships between the interior and exterior of the house. The renovation included Bedroom Extension and improvements to the Interiors. A new construction that includes a small Master Bedroom on the upper floor. The adjoining volume, visible from the living room with its voids, folds and openings, forms different spatialities. The staircase becomes an important architectural element. The volume of the house remained unchanged, but a double height of living room seeks visual relations between the two levels of the house while incorporating a new dimension in the upper floor. New openings were proposed to allow more natural light and ventilation maintaining relation between the interior and the exteriors.
We used Teak wood to create warm feel balanced out the cold feel from grey scheme tiles done.

Neutral materials and finishes combine with punctual touches of color leaving the prominence to the original elements of the house.

The design embraces an earthy material palette, borrows vernacular design elements & adopts a minimalistic approach with very simple details to characterize this peaceful home.
The core idea was for the architecture to establish a warm and solemn atmosphere, prompting extension to the current structure. The intervention gradually became more prominent, involving actions such as opening walls, and dividing spaces.
The aim was to correct proportions and alignments to shape the internal geometry. Spanning two stories, the house encompasses four bedrooms, A family Space, dining area, living room, and kitchen. The more private areas are adorned with softer materials such as carpets and linen gauze curtains. Access to both floors is facilitated by a staircase.
The living room, the most expansive area in the house, features Double height ceiling enclosed by modern charupadi on one side. The MS partition rack display, bookshelves, stylish furniture, and well-designed light fixtures adorn the spacious floor.
The Avaradi House is a meticulously designed environment that captivates the soul and engages the senses, possessing the power to capture both the elemental and ethereal aspects. Soft sunlight, filtered through delicate drapes, harnesses natural light to establish a soft and inviting ambiance, providing illumination while infusing warmth and tranquillity. The incorporation of timber on surfaces introduces a tactile and comforting dimension to the space.
