The design of these buildings faced diverse and unusual challenges since the beginning, because one of the objectives was to design a flood proof building due to the lands location and soil properties; another challenge was to design it without the grade levels study because the client was not able to have it done due to diverse issues. After several studies the resulting design are these angular shaped buildings and green landscape that are able to collect rain water and also survive a flood keeping students safe at all time. The diverse empty spaces along the buildings where designed to promote social cohesion among the users and to host cultural events such as art expositions. As for the sustainable aspect of the buildings the use of local materials was considered at all time, so the final outcome was a building that used around 70% of local sourced materials, improving the buildings thermal performance and enhancing local economy.
