Augusta Raurica archeological finds centre required new facilities for storage of the finds, new workshops, offices and exhibition space. CROPKA architects responded with a modular and flexible building. Structural frames were mounted on the outside face of envelope freeing the interior. Walls and roofs were constructed of "Brettstapel" panels, structural frames were made of glu-lam elements. The envelope has been covered with an intelligent louvered skin limiting solar gain and increasing comfort within the working spaces. The building has been optimized to meet the Minergie-P accreditation scheme criteria.
