AUDI LED CUBES
Audi LED Cubes is an installation of four glass display cases placed in front of the Audi City store in Berlin. A 3D matrix of LEDs is installed in each case. The four Audi LED Cubes are physically separated and distributed along the prominent Kurfürstendamm, but at the same time part of the same graphical space and dynamic player system. This allows 3D graphical content to travel from one Audi LED Cube to another and creating one coherent space of light. A stylish and surprising experience drawing attention to the Audi brand.
3D SPACE
Kollision has developed the customisable player that handles the four Audi LED Cubes, which can easily be prepared for other spatially configurations of 3D LED matrices. The player runs different types of voxel-based content and display these based on scheduling rules specified in an iPad controlled playlist. Each of the four Audi LED Cubes are based on 16x16x16 LEDs, a total of 4096 LEDs inscribed in a 70x70x70 cm cube. In this space by-passers can experience a range of different expressions – from simple texts running through the four Audi LED Cubes to more ambient expressions of light based on the three main foci of Audi. Audi ultra, which is a slowly moving and delicately waving carpet of light referring to Audi lightweight constructions. Audi e-tron, the future of electrical mobility illustrated by particles of energy that shoots through the four Audi LED Cubes. And finally Audi connect, a networking strategy for all Audi vehicles, visualized by floating notes of light that continuously travel trough space and connect to one-another.
